Petroscapes

"Petroscapes," are the delicate dances of decay and beauty that pervade our urban landscape. By painting metallic oil stains on asphalt-like surfaces, I seek to capture the iridescence of fleeting moments where the mundane transforms into art. Through meticulous layering and innovative color mixing, I recreate the luminous swirls of iridescence, juxtaposed with the gritty texture of asphalt, invoking a profound dialogue between permanence and impermanence.

"Petroscapes" is a meditation series on the hidden aesthetics of our industrial "petroleum landscapes." They seek to find beauty and meaning in these altered environments, transforming scenes of decay and pollution into thought-provoking art that comments on the relationship between industry, nature, and society. 

By illuminating the quiet poetry of decay, I urge viewers to see the world anew, and  find solace and inspiration in the ephemeral art that surrounds them, even in the midst of personal and global unrest.
